Email lists can change your business forever if you know how to utilize them. Whether you grow your own list or purchase a clean list from another company, you will begin to notice your leads growing quicker than ever before. However, some business owners have expectations above and beyond and leave their email campaign feeling disappointed and failed. People expect to send out 50,000 emails and in return receive 30,000 new leads. It doesn’t work that way! Sit back and relax, and follow the steps to a successful email campaign.
Like I stated above, be patient, don’t expect too much. No, not every campaign is going to be a successful one, but it is worth the time and energy to try. Go into it with realistic expectations. Be happy with even just a few new leads instead of expecting hundreds of new clients. If you stay patient and continue to try new mailing techniques your business will benefit greatly.
2. Trial and Error
You may not find the success you were hoping for in your first approach at an email campaign. DON’T GIVE UP! Keep trying different approaches until you find the right technique. Add more call to actions and special offers.
(ie – Changing up your creative, Changing your subject lines.)
3. Subject Lines
In my opinion, subject lines are the most important part of a successful email campaign. A subject line with make or break your campaign. Put yourself in your audiences’ shoes. What is going to make you open the email? What do you need to see in the subject area that is going to intrigue you enough to keep reading?
Lastly, personalization is a key factor in your long term success. Personalization gains trust from your audience. It makes them WANT to open your email when it is personally addressed to them. A great technique for this is utilizing the “date of birth” section of your list. If someone on your list has a birthday coming up, send them a special offer. In the subject line write something like “(Name), your birthday is coming up, and we wanted to send you a special gift! Something as simple as this will increase your opens and clicks drastically.
